Description
Genmaicha is a Japanese green tea blend that combines green tea leaves, typically sencha or bancha, with roasted brown rice. The result is a unique, nutty, and slightly sweet flavor from the rice, which balances out the grassy, vegetal taste of the green tea. It’s often called “popcorn tea” because some of the rice kernels pop during roasting, giving it a light, airy texture.
