Selenium is an essential trace mineral. It is a component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. As an antioxidant, Selenium helps to fight free radicals in the body. Free radicals can cause oxidative stress which may damage cells. Selenium also helps recycle Vitamin E, which adds additional antioxidant support. This formulation provides Yeast-Free Selenium as L-selenomethionine.
