Description
Thyme powder is simply dried thyme that has been ground into a fine powder. Its a more concentrated form of thyme than the whole or cut-and-sifted leaves, so a little goes a long way in adding flavor to your dishes.
You can use thyme powder in similar ways to the leaf version, but because its powdered, it will blend more easily into liquids and sauces. Its especially great for seasoning when you want a smooth, uniform flavor without the texture of dried herbs.
Some ways to use thyme powder:
Soups & stews: Add it to your broth for a deeper flavor.
Rubs & marinades: Perfect for meat or roasted veggies.
Breads & biscuits: Incorporate it into savory baked goods.
Gravy & sauces: Stir it into a sauce for a more even distribution of flavor.
If youre using thyme powder in place of whole or cut thyme leaves in a recipe, you might need less, as the ground form is more potent. A good starting point is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the amount you would use for whole leaves.
