Low sodium diets may be beneficial for people with high blood pressure who have been told to avoid the use of table salt (sodium chloride), as reducing the consumption of sodium may contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure. Salt substitutes do not deliver the same taste sensation as regular salt and can take some getting used to.
